Dr. Bernd Metzner
- Dr. Bernd Metzner, Member of the Board of Management of Bayer Schering Pharma AG
Bernd Metzner was born in Ruit auf den Fildern, near Stuttgart, Germany, on October 13, 1970. He studied business administration at the University of Siegen and, after obtaining his doctorate, he became a chartered accountant.
In 1999 he started at Bayer AG as a trainee in finance. Eventually he transferred to FGS, Flick Glocke Schaumburg, a lawyer’s and chartered accountant’s firm in Bonn, Germany. In 2002 he returned to the Corporate Finance Department of Bayer AG.
He became assistant to Bayer AG’s Chief Financial Officer in 2003.
In 2005, Dr. Metzner took over the responsibility as Head of Finance and Administration at Bayer S.p.A. in Italy.
